FAQ: What Does Full-Spectrum Hemp Mean? (100% Plant-Driven)

FAQ: What Does Full-Spectrum Hemp Mean? (100% Plant-Driven)

When we say “full-spectrum” we are referring to the variety of constituents (more than 500 trace compounds) in the hemp oil itself. 2Rise Naturals’ full-spectrum hemp extract contains several cannabinoids and other natural plant constituents (terpenes, essential oils, beneficial fats, chlorophyll, etc.) that are found in all parts of hemp.

Currently, a new form of products have swept the market and it’s called isolated CBD (99.8% pure CBD crystals). The isolate is processed to the extent that there is no other component of the hemp plant other than CBD.

In all, there’s much of controversy surrounding the efficacy of CBD isolate crystals.

You may ask, what’s the difference? If chemists can isolate the active ingredient, and I can get more of it, wouldn’t that be a good thing?

CBD has become a worldwide sensation in the last few years and while we are huge fans of the amazing compound, we know that there is so much more to the hemp plant and its healing potential than we can currently grasp.

It is clear that the many cannabinoids and compounds found in hemp work together synergistically to create outcomes they could not achieve on their own. Scientists call this ‘the entourage effect,” and it’s been proven over and over.

We believe the wide range of compounds found in hemp combine and interact to create an effect that is greater than its parts. It grows naturally on this planet for a reason and we like to think that it’s more effective to make nutrient dense products from ingredients that are the least tampered with.

Why go after one cannabinoid when you can get several PLUS many more incredibly healing components of the hemp plant? It’s a no brainer for us!

Terpenes are unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants and are plentiful in both the hemp and cannabis species. Terpenes give hemp its distinctive smell and have been shown to provide specific health benefits when combined in certain concentrations with each other and in unison with cannabinoids like CBD and THC.

If you use this analogy for hemp’s hundreds of compounds, you begin to understand why full-spectrum hemp extract is our preferred method of cannabinoid extraction.
